In a western, a shirt is a traditional piece of clothing, which makes it easier to identify as a western. In modern form, the shirts are known to have pockets on the front and patches. We have chosen to use a checked-shirt as it is a more modern type of shirt but still has the classic look of a western.

For our trousers, we have chosen to use Black skinny jeans. We have chosen this as it is plain but still has a classic feel to them. In the older westerns, the designer, Levi Strauss, used denim all the time. The black skinny jeans we are using are denim also so it relates back to the old westerns. We have chosen a skinny fit as it represents a modern look on a western, which is what our film is.

We had a large choice to pick from when it came to choosing the correct footwear for our main character. As a group, we decided that formal shoes (brogues) would be a preferred style as it brings back a classic and western feel with the patterns on the shoes. Formal shoes are worn all the time now, weddings, work, school, business etc, so this is another reason why we chose formal shoes as they are popular and are smart and modern.
